Need to know
Oklahoma has climbed to the top 10 after a tremendous start. The Sooners went 12-1 during their nonconference schedule before beginning SEC play 1-1 against a pair of ranked teams.
The Sooners started a new era in the SEC against a familiar foe. They lost their conference opener to No. 5 Texas 80-73. OU rebounded, though, with an 87-86 win over then-No. 15 Tennessee to end that same week.
Oregon State transfer Raegan Beers has been marvelous for the Sooners, leading them with 17.1 points a game. She's done enough this season to even get some national recognition as one of 25 players included on the Wooden Award Midseason Watch List.
Meanwhile, Mississippi State isn't ranked but is still receiving votes with the same number of wins as OU but one more loss at 13-3. After going 13-1 in their nonconference slate, the Bulldogs were handed a tough start to SEC play with losses to No. 16 Kentucky and No. 2 South Carolina.
