College softball will be down to just one undefeated team by the end of Friday night.

The Oklahoma Sooners will host the South Carolina Gamecocks this weekend at Love's Field for their first-ever SEC series. With OU at 19-0 and South Carolina at 20-0, they are the only undefeated teams left in Division-I softball to set up a monstrous top-10 clash in Norman.

The knock, though, on the No. 1 Sooners has been their lackluster schedule to this point. It was set up strategically that way by Patty Gasso while reloading nearly an entire roster and bracing for what will be OU's toughest conference schedule ever in its first season in the SEC.

But that has still created doubt about the 2025 Sooners despite being a program that has won the last four national championships. In the first RPI rankings of the season this week, OU came in at No. 26 despite being No. 1 in every major poll. For comparison, South Carolina, with almost the same record, was No. 5.

Any of that talk will be over after this week, though. Starting with South Carolina this weekend, every series but one left on OU's schedule will be against a ranked opponent. The only one not, Missouri, just dropped out of the top 25 last week.

The most recent ESPN.com / USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 featured 13 SEC teams, including the entire top 5.

OU's series against the Gamecocks will start Friday night before concluding Sunday afternoon with a doubleheader. Saturday's game was moved because of rain in the forecast.
