The Denver Broncos are finally back in the NFL playoffs thanks to a pair of former Sooners.

With a little bit of fate on their side, the Broncos clinched a spot in the playoffs on Sunday with a 38-0 win over the defending Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs. Finishing the regular season at 10-7, it's the Broncos' first playoff appearance since 2015 after getting the No. 7 seed in the AFC.

The Broncos did get extra help, though, with the Chiefs sitting most of their weapons after already locking up the top seed.

Former Oklahoma players Nik Bonitto and Marvin Mims Jr. have been vital in the Broncos' success this season after both earned Pro Bowl honors last week, and that was still the case in the regular-season finale on Sunday.

Bonitto led the Broncos with three tackles, two TFLs and a pair of sacks from the linebacker spot in the shutout. He also got to Chiefs backup quarterback Carson Wentz two more times during the day without tallying a sack but a quarterback hit instead.

Mims made the Pro Bowl as a return man but was phenomenal as a receiver Sunday. He tied Courtland Sutton with a team-high five catches in the game. Mims did the most with his receptions, though, and used his speed to turn two of them into scores. He also had 51 receiving yards.

The Broncos will head to Buffalo to play the Bills at noon CT on Sunday for their first playoff game in a decade. The game will be broadcasted on CBS.
