Bedlam isn't over on the gridiron, some of those battles just moved to the next level.

Former Oklahoma Sooner Drake Stoops and former Oklahoma State Cowboy Brennan Presley could be competing for the Los Angeles Rams' final roster spot at wide receiver after both former rivals have impressed in the first two weeks of the NFL preseason.

Drake Stoops, Brennan Presley could compete for Rams' roster spot in Bedlam battle

Both actually caught passes in the last Bedlam football meeting in 2023. Stoops led the Sooners with 12 catches, 134 yards and a TD, plus was part of the most notable play near the end of the game when a pass interference wasn't called in the end zone before OSU ultimately won 27-24 in Stillwater.

Presley had eight catches for 97 yards in that same game while also handling all return duties. Presley then played one more season of college football and became OSU's all-time receptions leader before signing with the Rams as an undrafted free agent this year.

Stoops, the son of legendary coach Bob Stoops, also went undrafted in 2024 before signing with the Rams. He was also drafted by the UFL's Arlington Renegades, who his dad coaches, but ultimately chose to pursue the NFL. Stoops spent last season on the Rams' practice squad.

It seems the Rams could already have six receivers locked in for their 53-man roster, so both young hopefuls either have to jump the last man on the totem pole or hope the Rams want a seventh receiver. Both are already fighting uphill battles as undersized free agents, but Stoops has even more of a current to go against with a two-game suspension ahead for reportedly testing positive for Adderall, which is on the NFL's banned substance list if a player does not have a therapeutic use exemption.

Presley has made a strong case early, plus has return experience to help on special teams. Through two preseason games, Presley has eight catches for 113 receiving yards, the third-most in the NFL during the preseason so far, and caught a TD in his debut. He also basically won the game for the Rams on Saturday with an insane leaping catch.

Stoops has four catches for 51 yards this preseason. He'll need his own monster game to one-up Presley and any other receiver ahead of him.
