One question remains ahead of the unveiling of the first 12-team College Football Playoff bracket: Alabama or SMU?
SMU lost to Clemson 34-31 in the ACC Championship Game on Saturday night thanks to a game-winning 56-yard field goal. The Mustangs sit at 11-2 with their only other loss to BYU early in the season.
Mighty Alabama, meanwhile, is 9-3 and didn't make the SEC Championship Game, getting to sit at home this weekend. The Crimson Tide lost to playoff-bound Tennessee, but their other two losses are against 6-6 SEC teams, including the Oklahoma Sooners just two weeks ago.
The Sooners saw firsthand what Alabama is made of. And as OU limped along in its first SEC season with no plans of a bowl game, the Sooners notched win No. 6 and reached bowl eligibility thanks to Bama. OU handled the Crimson Tide 24-3 just two weeks ago in Norman.
So as the college football world wonders if the committee will put the crimson A into the playoff again, even OU fans and those who witnessed that game know the Crimson Tide aren't worthy. Oh, of course OU fans are also gonna throw in some shots that Texas sucks, too.
Wait, did the Longhorns unite the state of Oklahoma?
