No one, not even most Oklahoma fans, believed in the Sooners against Georgia Tech to get out of the Atlanta Regional until Dylan Tockey called game.
Tockey conjured up Sooner Magic in a do-or-die game on Monday, when he crushed a towering 454-foot walk-off home run to take down No. 2 national seed Georgia Tech 8-7 and send the Sooners to Super Regionals of the NCAA Baseball Championship.
After the moment, SEC Network interviewed Tockey as emotions were still running high and his teammates were celebrating around him at Russ Chandler Stadium in Atlanta.
Dayton Tockey encapsulates Oklahoma's never-die mentality after Georgia Tech upset in NCAA Tournament
"We've been doubted all week, talking about how good these guys are," Tockey said. "I mean, yeah, they're a good team, but everybody underestimated the Sooners. We took a swing at the giant last night, and they hit us back pretty hard today, but we just stayed through it with each other all game and we started believing in each other.
"I got the opportunity to do what I do."

Tockey was the unlikely hero as the 8-hole in the lineup hitting just .232. He was the lead-off batter in the bottom of the 10th after the Sooners rallied from a 7-3 deficit just to get the game to extras. He got in a 3-2 hole, but as a reflection of his team throughout the week, Tockey won the game just as soon as there seemed to be no chance. He was 2-for-4 in the elimination game with a walk and the walk-off homer.

Just the day before on Sunday, again facing elimination against the No. 2 team in the country, the Sooners were down 8-2 entering their half of the fourth. They then put up 13 unanswered runs to suddenly flip the script and survive 15-8 to force the "if necessary" game on Monday. Tockey was 2-for-3 while getting walked twice and scored twice during that comeback.
The Sooners also had to beat The Citadel 15-5 on Sunday to even get another shot later that day against Georgia Tech, which thumped OU 9-3 on Saturday. The Sooners ultimately fought off elimination three times in about 24 hours and mounted a pair of comebacks to get to Super Regionals, where they will take on No. 15 Kansas this weekend in Lawrence.
"We just keep fighting," Tockey said. "We don't know when to give up. We trust each other. We just believe in each other and we love each other so we're gonna finish the game. We're gonna play all 27 outs for each other."
