Sooner Nation had every reason to savor Oklahoma's upset of mighty Alabama on Saturday. Even OU quarterback John Mateer admitted postgame that the team would celebrate this one, at least for a night.
With all odds against them and their College Football Playoff chances on the line, the No. 11 Sooners took down the No. 4 Crimson Tide 23-21 at Bryant-Denny Stadium, where Bama had previously won 17 in a row before the brighter crimson got to Tuscaloosa.

The Sooners got off to a quick 10-0 lead after a massive punt return from Isaiah Sategna led to a field goal on their first possession, and then cornerback Eli Bowen returned an interception for an 87-yard touchdown to put the count at 10-0 after the first quarter.
The Crimson Tide fought back and took their first lead midway through the third quarter, 21-20. The Sooners' defense then eventually forced their second fumble late in the third quarter that led to Tate Sandell's third field goal of the game that ultimately sealed the deal.
There were plenty of OU fans present at Bryant-Denny Stadium that could be heard during the broadcast while the Crimson Tide were on offense during the fourth quarter, but even the faithful at home were vocal all over social media as Sooner Nation not only rejoiced an upset win, but CFP dreams turning into reality.
Lots of happy #Sooners players greeting the OU fans that made the trip to Tuscaloosa.

And maybe no one was happier than head ball coach Brent Venables, who went from hot seat to driver's seat for a spot in the playoff.
