Oklahoma reportedly finding a new defensive backs coach in LaMar Morgan took all the headlines Wednesday afternoon, but it wasn't the only addition Brent Venables made on the day.
OU on Wednesday announced the hiring of Molly Jacoby as the Sooners' new director of recruiting. The role was opened after Jolie Ale recently left for a similar role at Auburn.

Jacoby has spent her entire career in the world of college football recruiting for big-time programs. She was most recently at Florida State as the Seminoles' director of recruiting operations for one year. That lone 2026 class that Jacoby helped assemble for Florida State ranked as the 14th-best in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite. Ironically, that was one spot above the Sooners.
Before Florida State, Jacoby held various titles at North Carolina, including director of recruiting, director of recruiting strategy and assistant director of on-campus recruiting under Mack Brown. Her career started as a recruiting analyst for Georgia as she earned her degree from there in 2021.
Jacoby will join OU's recruiting staff that's led by general manager Jim Nagy, who has rapidly expanded the Sooners' front office staff since getting to OU last year. The rest of Nagy's staff currently includes senior assistant general manager Lake Dawson, assistant general manager Taylor Redd, director of high school recruiting Kale Pearson, assistant director of college scouting Charlie Parkinson, director of player personnel Drew Hill, director of player personnel and retainment Stacey Ford, coordinator of on-campus recruiting Tahlor Baker, and more as the staff continues to grow.
Nagy's staff has obviously been a benefit for the Sooners, though, and the results should soon show on the field. OU's 2027 class, which is the first group Nagy and his staff have been fully involved with, already has 13 commits and is ranked as the best in college football, according to the 247Sports Composite. It would be the Sooners' first top-5 class since 2010 based on the 247Sports Composite.
