A lot of people witnessed that Bedlam beatdown.

The Oklahoma Sooners run-ruled the Oklahoma State Cowgirls 11-3 on Wednesday night at Devon Park in Oklahoma City in the only scheduled Bedlam game of the season. And a record-number of fans were inside Devon Park to watch the top-20 rivalry game between the No. 2 Sooners and No. 18 Cowgirls.

Oklahoma and Oklahoma State fans set college softball attendance record at Devon Park

The Cowgirls jumped to an early 3-0 lead after scoring two right off the bat in the first inning, then added one more in the third. The Sooners finally answered in the bottom of the third with a two-run home run from Kasidi Pickering.

Then the Sooners exploded in the fourth inning and it was too much for the Cowgirls to handle at that point. OU tacked on five runs in the fourth. Maya Bland hit a three-run bomb to give the Sooners their first lead of the night, 5-3.

Ella Parker then singled in McEnroe-Marinas, and Gabbie Garcia doubled to score Parker.

The Sooners completed the run-rule victory with four more runs in the fifth inning. The final blow was Garcia's single up the middle to score McEnroe-Marinas.

There to take advantage of and witness the only Bedlam of the season were 9,259 fans inside Devon Park, home of the Women's College World Series every year. Devon Park will also host Olympic softball in 2028.

The crowd of 9,259 was the largest ever at a regular-season college softball game. The previous record was set when the Sooners and Texas Longhorns played at the same venue in 2023.

On top of the 9,000-plus fans inside the stadium, the game was also in a primetime slot on ESPN2, putting a lot of eyes on Bedlam softball and the Sooners' dominance of the state.
