Baker Mayfield, man.

Mayfield went off Sunday for five touchdown passes in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 48-14 win against the Carolina Panthers.

That win plus the Atlanta Falcons’ loss on Sunday put the Buccaneers in the driver's seat to win the NFC South. Mayfield would lead the Bucs to a divisional title and the NFL playoffs both of his seasons as their QB1 if he does it again this year.

Even with the success he's had in his short time at Tampa Bay, Sunday was still Mayfield’s best outing as a Buccaneer. He finished the game 27-of-32 for 359 passing yards and those five TDs with a 90.2 QBR. His five TD passes tied a career high.

First, Mayfield drove the Bucs down on their opening drive and finished it with a 2-yard TD pass to Mike Evans.

After a pair of possessions that ended with field goals, Mayfield connected with Evans for a second time in the second quarter for another short TD.

Three passing TDs usually make for a solid day, and Mayfield already had that before halftime after a 10-yard pass to Jalen McMillian.

The second half was again all Mayfield. He hit a third different receiver, this time Payne Durham, for a 5-yard TD in the third quarter.

Mayfield wasn't done, though. He finished his outing with another TD pass to McMillian, this time for 16 yards, to tie his career high with five passing TDs.

The Buccaneers will host the New Orleans Saints at noon CT on Sunday for their regular-season finale. At 9-7, the Bucs sit atop the NFC South standings, and a win against the Saints on Sunday would clinch the division and punch their ticket to the NFL playoffs.

Mayfield also led the Sooners to the College Football Playoff twice during his career at Oklahoma, where he won the Heisman Trophy in 2017.
