The Arkansas women's basketball team took a shot at the Oklahoma Sooners before taking on OU on Thursday at Lloyd Noble Center, but then the Sooners were the only ones able to actually make a shot on the court.
The official X account of the Arkansas women's basketball team tried to troll OU, but it backfired embarrassingly when the Sooners completely obliterated the Razorbacks 89-44 just moments later on OU's Senior Night.
Sooners thump Razorbacks after viral social media post
Two weeks ago when the OU men's basketball team hosted Georgia for a 94-78 win, the game was delayed for about five minutes early on because a popcorn machine in the concession area caught fire. Even after the fire was quickly extinguished, the smoke filled the arena so bad that the game had to be put on hold until the air was clear enough to play.

The situation of course went viral on social media as college basketball fans roasted the Sooners, who are struggling at 14-14 despite winning that day. Two weeks later, Arkansas tried to get in on the joke late by posting a picture on X of the concession area with no popcorn machine and commenting, "Guess we aren't having popcorn tonight."

Although the post was worthy of a chuckle even from OU fans, it was even more laughable that a team still winless in SEC play was bold enough to poke fun at anyone. Arkansas' play on the court has been the biggest joke.
The No. 7 Sooners didn't any extra motivation to handle Arkansas and likely didn't even see the post before tip-off, but they still made sure to fire back after the beating by replying to the post, "We’ll just pop off on the court instead." The University of Oklahoma official account even chimed in.

The Sooners certainly popped off and caught fire themselves while shooting 46% from the field. Every OU starter scored double digits as freshman point guard Aaliyah Chavez led the Sooners with 16 points. Fellow freshman Brooklyn Stewart came off the bench to also reach double-digit scoring with 11 points. Not a single player on Arkansas' roster reached double digits in the game as the Sooners forced 18 turnovers and stole the ball 11 times.
