It hasn't seemed like much so far, but the Transfer Portal is still taking from the Oklahoma Sooners.
ESPN's Adam Rittenberg reported on Wednesday that OU sophomore cornerback Devon Jordan is expected to enter the Transfer Portal with two years of eligibility remaining once it officially opens on Friday. Jordan became the Sooners' 11th expected portal loss so far and second from the secondary after fellow defensive back Kendel Dolby.

Jordan appeared in every game this season for the Sooners as a backup corner behind fellow sophomore Eli Bowen. He tallied 16 tackles, two tackles for loss and sacked Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson in OU's road upset of the Crimson Tide.
He got to OU in 2024 as a three-star recruit out of Union High School in Tulsa. Jordan immediately made an impact on special teams and as a reserve cornerback as a freshman last season.
The Sooners are still expected to return both starting corners in Bowen and breakout freshman Courtland Guillory. So far, Jordan is the Sooners' only portal loss from the secondary of a player who actually contributed in 2025. However, starting free safety Robert Spears-Jennings exhausted his eligibility.
Still behind Bowen and Guillory at corner are redshirt junior Gentry Williams, junior Jacobe Johnson, freshman Trystan Haynes and freshman Maliek Hawkins. Derrick Johnson II, a four-star recruit from the 2026 class, is also good enough to make an immediate impact as a freshman next season. The Sooners could still look to the portal to add more experience to the group, though.
Although the loss of Jordan, or any portal causality really so far, hasn't seemed detrimental to the Sooners, every blow taken is closer to the next being a knockout at a position. After being plagued with injuries the last two seasons and losing a starting role, Williams should be on transfer watch. One of the young players could also hit the portal to find more opportunity elsewhere. If the Sooners lose another corner, then the position would immediately become a portal priority for OU general manager Jim Nagy.
