Some of Sooner Nation is more famous than others, yet still the same on Saturdays in the fall.
Actor Joshua Morrow is a super fan of the Oklahoma Sooners, especially of former Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Baker Mayfield, who now plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Morrow, who grew up in Oklahoma, once told ESPN, "The Sooners are my religion."
Morrow is most famous from being on "Young and the Restless" since 1994, a year before Mayfield was born. He's been nominated for five Daytime Emmy Awards in his long career.
On Thursday morning, Morrow was a guest on NFL Network's "Good Morning Football." He again emphasized to the cast how much he loved OU sports, especially football.
"I am a massive football fan, and particularly when it comes to my beloved Oklahoma Sooners," Morrow said on the show.
The show then proved Morrow's statement by showing a video of him watching the Sooners play football while yelling and even wearing an OU helmet, which he said he calls his "rally helmet."
Morrow also admitted Mayfield is his hero. He shared a story about getting to meet Mayfield through a co-star who is friends with Mayfield.
"What Baker Mayfield has done for the Oklahoma Sooners is nothing short than miraculous, and he knows that he's got the biggest fan in the world," Morrow said.
Morrow said he even offered Mayfield a part on "Young and the Restless," but Mayfield denied the offer.
