The Hawkins brothers are on the move together, and it appears they'll stay that way, but where?
Quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr. and his brother, cornerback Maliek Hawkins, are both transferring from Oklahoma this offseason, and they're expected to again be a package deal wherever they go next.
Maliek was a three-star recruit in the 2025 class, but Michael is definitely the most prized transfer target of the duo considering his position and that he started five games during his two years with the Sooners as a former four-star recruit with a loaded list of offers. Regardless, whoever wants Michael will also get Maliek, it seems, so consider Michael's most likely landing spots also Maliek's.
Clemson Tigers
At one point in his high school career, Hawkins played for Chad Morris at Texas powerhouse Allen High School. Things could be moving too late and Dabo Swinney usually doesn't like to use the portal, but Morris is expected to become Clemson's next offensive coordinator, and he could want a talented QB1 he's already familiar with since the Tigers are losing multi-year starter Cade Klubnik.
TCU Horned Frogs
Hawkins is a Texas native who played most of his preps career near the DFW area between Allen High School and Frisco Emerson High School. TCU wanted to keep Hawkins nearby during his high school recruitment and should want to bring him back now with QB1 Josh Hoover in the portal.
West Virginia Mountaineers
This is most likely where Hawkins ends up, with 247Sports already logging a Crystal Ball Prediction for Hawkins to be a Mountaineer. ESPN's Pete Thamel reported that Hawkins is visiting West Virginia on Saturday.
There's no real prior connection to Morgantown for the Hawkins family, but the Mountaineers will gladly take a pair of young players with promise and reportedly have Michael high on their list. However, Rich Rodriguez is also a big fan of West Virginia freshman Scotty Fox Jr., so Hawkins could end up in another QB battle next season.
