For the first time since wearing crimson and cream as an Oklahoma Sooner in college, Trae Young could be repping a different team other than the Atlanta Hawks.
Young, a four-time NBA All-Star, is reportedly on the trading block after ESPN's Tim MacMahon said the Hawks are "indicating that they're looking for the exit ramp" regarding who was their franchise player. Young, though, has a price tag of $46 million, so there's actually not a long list of possible suitors for Young, who has spent his entire eight-year NBA career in Atlanta so far.

Dallas Mavericks
Technically, Atlanta isn't the only NBA organization Young has been a part of. The Dallas Mavericks selected Young with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, but then immediately traded him to the Hawks for rights to third overall pick Luka Dončić, who is now with the Los Angeles Lakers. Now, Young could actually suit up for the Mavs as they build around 2025 top pick Cooper Flagg, and also have the assets to make a logical deal with veterans Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving.
Houston Rockets
The Houston Rockets don't have a legit point guard, so they might need Young more than anyone else. The Rockets also have one of the best defenses in the NBA, so that could help negate what Young lacks on that end of the court. The West is absolutely loaded, so the Rockets, with an aging Kevin Durant, have to make a splash to have a chance to compete.
Miami Heat
Like the Rockets, the Miami Heat also have a strong defense to pick up Young's slack on that end and are in need of a high-scoring threat at guard. If Young is a good fit, the Heat could be become immediate contenders in a wide-open East, so it could be worth trading away some future first-round picks for immediate success. However, the Heat rising in the East could also be why the Hawks avoid this option.
