When it rains it pours, and it continues to rain positive for Oklahoma football as the Sooners have added another four-star defender to its 2024 class.

Devon Jordan, a consensus four-star defensive back from Tulsa in the Sooner State, announced his commitment on “X” (formerly Twitter) on Friday, just 24 hours after four-star linebacker Michael Boganowski picked Oklahoma on Thursday.

Oklahoma won out over Alabama, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State and TCU in earning Jordan’s commitment. OU defensive backs coach Jay Valai was the lead figure in Jordan’s commitment.

The 5-foot, 11-inch, 170-pound defensive back plays for Union High School in Tulsa. The scouting report touts his speed and quickness, which should be an asset on the back end of the defense as well as a weapon on special teams and in the return game.

"“I have a great relationship with coach Valai,” Jordan told On3 staff writer Hayes Fawcett. “It’s a feeling I get with them that I don’t get with any other school.”"

Jordan is rated as the No. 4 player in the state of Oklahoma and the No. 35 cornerback in the 2024 class nationally.

He is the 27th commitment in Oklahoma’s 2024 recruiting class and the 12th defensive player. He is the fifth defensive back in the Sooners’ 2024 class, joining Jeremiah Newcombe, Eli Bowen, Jayden Hardy and Mykel Patterson-McDonald.

The Sooners have the No. 1 player in the state of Oklahoma (edge Danny Okoye), the No. 4 player (Jordan), No. 5 (RB Xavier Robinson), No. 6 (S Patterson-McDonald) and No. 10 (QB Andy Bass) in their 2024 class.

Oklahoma’s 2024 class currently ranks No. 4 nationally, according to Rivals, No, 6 by 247Sports and No. 10 in the On3 team rankings.
