Oklahoma football: Is OU Getting David Stone?

The Oklahoma football program gets its second chance this month at landing a five-star defensive-line prospect with a huge commitment announcement scheduled for Saturday night.

David Stone, 5 Star DL currently playing at IMG Academy, announces his commit later today. Stone has been forecast to Oklahoma since he was in 8th grade but just this week Miami has picked up smoke.

Unfortunately for OU, you cannot underestimate the ability for Miami and Mario Cristabol to give Stone an NIL offer he can’t refuse. While Stone has made comments to the tune of Oklahoma being the place for him from a football standpoint, Stone is also the ultimate internet troll who loves to keep everyone guessing.

Whether Sooner nation will truly be shocked today remains to be seen. Stone has set his commitment for half time of his game this evening. You can watch on ESPN 2 beginning at 6 p.m. CT.

I think Stone comes to OU. His two best friends are currently committed to the Sooners in the 2024 class. His sister also currently attends OU. It might be hard to ignore the bag but even if Stone commits to Miami today, this recruitment will be far from over.
