The Oklahoma football program is set for its last big recruiting event of the summer, hosting around a dozen top 2024 targets who remain uncommitted for the Party at the Palace.

Also on hand to provide additional persuasive power will be a half-dozen members of the Sooners’ 2024 commitment class.

This event will be the last big push for head coach Brent Venables and Company to earn the favor of multiple top recruiting prospects they would like to see in an Oklahoma uniform come the 2024 season.

Among the top uncommitted recruits who will be in attendance are four-star LB Michael Boganowski from Junction City, Kansas, the No. 1 player in the state of Kansas, according to the 247Sports Composite ranking; three-star DB Mykel Patterson-McDonald, an in-state prospect from nearby Oklahoma City, who is expected to commit to OU when he announces on July 31; four-star CB Eli Bowen, the brother of five-star OU freshman Peyton Bowen, out of Denton, Texas; four-star OT Grant Brix, the No. 1 player in the state of Iowa and No. 5 player at his position nationally.

Also, four-star edge rusher Danny Okoye, from Tulsa, the No. 10 edge rusher in the 2024 class. Okoye is an in-state prospect the Sooners would love to land in what could be a historic recruitment of defensive linemen in this cycle for OU.

The Sooners already have a commitment from three-star DL Jayden Jackson, who just happens to be a high school teammate of another elite D-lineman in the 2024 class Oklahoma is after in David Stone, a five-star prospect, who grew up in Oklahoma and reportedly has been a Sooner fan since his youth.

Although Oklahoma is projected to be in the lead to get Okoye’s commitment, the Sooners are going to have to win out over formidable offers from the likes of Georgia, Alabama, Michigan and Ohio State.

Venables and defensive line coach Todd Bates are also hopeful of landing five-star DL Williams Nwaneri out of the Kansas City area, who is set to announce his commitment announcement on Aug. 7.

Other expected participants at this weekend’s Party at the Palace are three-star OL Josh Aisosa, from nearby Edmund, Oklahoma, who has projections favoring the Sooners; three-star QB Brendan Zurbrugg, who OU hopes to flip from Northwestern; and three-star edge rusher CJ Jackson, the No. 14 edge rusher nationally in the 2024 class, from Tucker, Georgia.

Mingling in among the Sooners’ uncommitted targets will be several current members of the OU 2024 class, which has been steadily growing over the past six weeks and is up to No. 17 in both the latest 247Sports 2024 team recruiting rankings and No. 16 in the On3 team rankings.

Current Sooner 2024 commits who will be on hand this weekend in Norman are QB Michael Hawkins, OL Isaiah Autrey and S Jaydan Hardy.

In early August, all attention turns to preseason training camp and getting ready for the 2023 season.
