While the main Oklahoma football recruiting focus right now is on the 2024 class, it doesn’t mean the Sooners aren’t looking out even further to 2025 and beyond.

On Wednesday, Oklahoma picked up its third commitment for 2025 and first in that cycle from a defensive player. Defensive tackle Ka’Mori Moore is a three-star prospect out of Lee’s Summit North High School in the Kansas City area, the same school that produced OU OL Cayden Green as well as 2024 target DL Williams Nwaneri and 2025 WR prospect Isaiah Mozee.

Green is a member of the Sooners’ 2023 class and Nwaneri, who will publicly announce his commitment on Aug. 1, also is expected to land at Oklahoma.

Moore, ranked as the No. 4 player in the state of Missouri and the No. 36 defensive lineman in the 2025 class nationally by On3, chose the Oklahoma over offers from Iowa State, Nebraska and others.

The 6-foot, 1-inch, 295-pound defensive lineman was in attendance at one of OU’s recruiting events in June.

Bryant Crews, a recruiting analyst for Sooners Wire, which covers Oklahoma athletics and is part of the USA Today network, had this to say about what the Sooners are getting in Moore:

“Moore is powerful but has excellent agility for someone his size. His ability to stonewall offensive lineman allows him to disrupt timing on plays and enables the rest of the defense to make plays.

Moore joins fellow Oklahoma 2025 commits quarterback Kevin Sperry and wide receiver Gracen Harris. The commitment from Moore underscores Oklahoma’s emphasis on rebuilding the defensive line talent and depth from Alex Grinch’s days as the OU defensive coordinator.
