So, I’m a football guy. I have yet to write an article about anything other than the greatest sport on the planet… college football. I have done this for two reasons. One, it’s what I know. I grew up drowning in it, I played it, a now watch it 24/7, 365. Literally… I watched the 2001 Sugar Bowl the other night because it was on, and it’s one of my favorite games ever played for reasons I don’t even know. But now I wanted to write my first and only Oklahoma softball article.

Anyways, before I go back to writing about what I know best I wanted to pay my respects to the 2023 NCAA Softball Champion Oklahoma Sooners in the best way I know how… by writing a debate article about them. You officially know you made it when Brandon writes a debate article about you let me tell ya.

So, let’s debate. Official question: Does Oklahoma Softball Head Coach (not manager, right?) Patty Gasso belong on the all time college sports coaches list of best coaches ever? More specifically, is she top-5? Top-10?

I’m not sure. I know she’s the best softball coach ever, and she’s been that since I’ve been in college, but is she one of the greatest coaches ever? Many Oklahomans think she is, and I understand that sentiment. But I really want to answer this question. So, for me to answer it I wanted to put together a list of 5 other coaches I feel are the best to ever coach college sports and then compare Gasso’s accomplishments to them.

So, without further ado… let’s debate.
