Oklahoma basketball has added another transfer to the 2023-24 roster.

Small forward Jalon Moore, formerly at Georgia Tech, announced his commitment to the Sooners on Tuesday via Twitter.

The 6-foot, 7-inch, 209-pound forward has two years of eligibility remaining. His sophomore year last season at Georgia Tech Moore averaged 7.6 points and 4.7 rebounds and averaged 20.5 minutes per game. He appeared in 32 games and made 15 starts. In conference games in the Atlantic Coast Conference last season, he averaged 6.8 points and 4.3 rebounds.

Moore hails from Gardendale, Alabama, and was rated as a three-star prospect and No. 44 at his position nationally in the 2021 class, according to 247Sports. He is the fifth transfer added to the Oklahoma roster this offseason by Sooners head coach Porter Moser.

Moore reportedly entered the transfer portal on the last day it was opened this winter. The scouting book on the small forward is that he is a slashing scorer who can get to the rim and is comfortable in transition. Defensively, he is long and athletic and can guard multiple positions, something that definitely benefit the Sooners on the defensive end of the floor.

The Georgia Tech transfer joins Javian McCollum (guard from Siena), Le’Tre Darthard (guard from Utah Valley), Rivaldo Soares (guard from Oregon) and John Hugley (forward from Pittsburgh), all of whom have transferred to OU in the offseason and will play for the Sooners next season.

Moser has one more open scholarship available to complete the OU roster for the coming season after transfer and graduation losses following the Sooners’ 15-17 2022-23 season.
