Eric Gray hears his name called on the final day of the 2023 NFL Draft by the New York Football Giants. This is the biggest Sooner steal of the draft and one of the draft’s bigger steals overall. Gray brings tremendous upside and physical talent to the Giants’ offense.

Gray will be behind All-Pro Giants running back Saquon Barkley for now. Barkley is arguably the best running back in the NFL right now; however, he is prone to occasional injuries. Also, running back shelf lives are short in the NFL, and Barkley is nearing the downhill side of his prime. I’d look for Gray to contribute early in special teams and share backup time alongside Matt Breida. By next year, I see Gray as the solid number 2 running back in New York.
