Oklahoma football: Speed demon wide receiver K.J. Daniels commits to the Sooners
By Brandon Self
The Sooners have picked up their third commitment to the 2024 recruiting class. Franklinton, Louisiana, wide receiver Kelly (K.J.) Daniels committed to the Oklahoma football program late Monday evening.
The three-star wide receiver chose the Sooners over Cincinnati, Houston, Texas Tech, and Louisiana Tech.
When I watched Daniels Hudl highlight tape, I first noticed his jump-ball ability. Daniels was able to high-point passes and time his jumps perfectly. He has good top-end speed, and his hands were consistently good. Daniels also displayed a fluid route running motion, which will enable him to transition into the college game quickly. Daniels also showed a high amount of athleticism on kickoff returns. This kid’s game is exciting, and he’s a fantastic grab for the Sooners’ offense.
Daniels is the third verbal commitment of the 2024 Sooners recruiting class behind DB Jeremiah Newcombe and QB Michael Hawkins.
Other receivers the Sooners are closing in on committing include 5-star WR Bryant Wesco (Midlothian, TX), Zion Kearney (Missouri City, TX), Zion Ragins (Gray, GA), and Isaiah McMorris (Bellevue, NE).The verbal commitment of Daniels also should serve as a sign of upcoming Sooner commits.
With the spring game being Saturday, look for more verbal commitments for the Sooners program. Several top-tiered prospects are expected to be on campus Saturday to see Sooner Nation at its finest. The Spring game environment in Norman is unlike any other in the nation. Several of the Sooners top recruits will be in town to see it.
It feels like the dominos are fixing to start falling for the Sooners. K.J. Daniels’s commitment comes as no surprise, and neither should an upcoming Red Wave of Sooner football commits. It’s the 2nd most wonderful time of the year… the return of Spring games and the surge of recruiting commitments.
Welcome to Sooner Nation, Mr. Daniels; we’re glad to have you. We know a Storm is coming with you.
Be sure and get your tickets to the Sooner Spring game here. Be sure and get down to Norman early for the Heisman statue presentation for Kyler Murray and stay to see Team 129’s debut on Owen Field.
