9. Mark Andrews – Tight end – Recruiting class of 2014
Listed at 6-foot, 6 inches, 230 pounds, Andrews was ranked as a consensus 4-star wide receiver by 247Sports coming out of Desert Mountain high school in the class of 2014. Following his senior year in high school, Andrews was named a second-team high school All-American and a starter in the Army All-American game.
Following his arrival in Norman in the Summer of 2014, Andrews led one of the most successful careers for a tight end in Sooner history, racking up a career stat line of 32 starts, 89 catches, 1,508 receiving yards for an average of 17 yards per reception, and a total of 18 receiving touchdowns. Following the Sooners 2017 season, Andrews was selected as the John Mackey Award winner as the nation’s top tight end. During his time in Norman, Andrews accumulated two first-team All-Big 12 selections (2016, 2017), one 2nd team All-Big 12 selection (2015), and one unanimous first-team All-American selection (2017).
Andrews was selected by the Baltimore Ravens with the 86th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, where he immediately began his successful NFL career. Andrews has achieved three Pro Bowl honors (2019, 2021, 2022) and one first-team All-Pro selection (2021). Andrews is regarded as one of the most reliable tight ends in the NFL and one of the most extraordinary Sooner tight ends in program history alongside Keith Jackson and Jermaine Gresham.
