One of the hardest things to do in sports is to beat a team three times in a row in the same season. The Oklahoma basketball men are hoping that maxim holds true this week,

The Sooners, the No. 10 seed in this week’s Big 12 Men’s Tournament, will play Bedlam rival  Oklahoma State on Wednesday night in the opening round of the tournament at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

Oklahoma (15-16, 5-13) and Oklahoma State (17-14, 8-10) will play the second game on Wednesday night with tipoff scheduled for 8:30 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPNU. Rich Hollenberg and Fran Fraschilla will be on the call.

The No. 7-seeded Cowboys have already beaten Oklahoma twice this season and are looking to make it a trifecta in Kansas City. While both teams have had a commanding advantage historically when playing each other on their home hardwood, Oklahoma State owns a slight 8-7 edge when the game is played on a neutral floor as in the conference tournament.

Oklahoma owns a 141-105 record against Oklahoma State in the all-time series. Since the Big 12 has been in existence, however, the Cowboys have had the Sooners’ number in the postseason conference tournament.

Oklahoma State is 5-2 against OU in the Big 12 Tournament. The last time the two in-state rivals played in Kansas City was in the first round in 2018 with 9th-seeded OSU prevailing 71-60 over 9th-seeded Oklahoma.
