Four former Oklahoma football players are taking part in the Senior Bowl on Saturday.

Saturday’s Senior Bowl is the 73rd edition of the game, played in Mobile, Alabama, that showcases the best NFL draft prospects of those players who have completed their college eligibility.

All four OU players who received invitations to play in the game are on the roster for the American team. Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy will coach the American team.

The four Sooners who will have the opportunity to display their talent for NFL general managers and other team officials are running back Eric Gray, tight end Brayden Willis, offensive lineman Wanya Morris and defensive lineman Jalen Redmond.

Gray’s NFL Draft stock made a big upward climb this past season. He is probably the best NFL Draft prospect of the four Sooners participating in the Senior Bow. Gray rushed for 1,366 yards this past season and averaged 6.41 yards per carry, 14th best among FBS running backs. Gray is projected as a top-10 prospect among the available running backs in the draft. Pro Football Focus projects Gray to go on Day 2 in the late second or third round.

Gray was honored as the American team Practice Player of the Week by vote of his peers.

One NFL scouting report on Willis list him as a “rangy tight end who can create gaps in the run game and provide pass-pro support. He is projected as a 5th round draft selection or later.

Morris was a five-star prospect when he signed with Tennessee. He played two seasons at Oklahoma. His scouting report says he is still a work in progress but plays a premium draft position as an offensive tackle. At least one service has him as high as a Day 2 draft selection, but he likely will fall later that that.

Redmond is one of prospects participating in the 2023 Senior Bowl that could really benefit from a good showing both there and at the NFL scouting combine. Right now he grades out as a potential sixth or seventh-round NFL Draft status.

This will be the first opportunity for the Oklahoma participants as well as the other NFL Draft prospects in the game to play with and against star college players of comparable ability.

Kickoff for the game, to be played at Hancock Whitney Stadium at the University of South Alabama, is 1:30 p.m. CT on NFL Network.
