In case you haven’t noticed, the 2022 college football season is over and done. Fans of Oklahoma football have many outstanding seasons to remember, but 2022 is one they would just as soon forget.

Sooner fans have turned the page and their attention to brighter days ahead when the new season kicks off later this year in Brent Venables’ second season as head coach.

College football prognosticators have turned their attention to what’s ahead in the 2023 season as well. The first shot over the bow in that regard are the first of the year way-too-early top-25 projections for the 2023 season.

Of the 10 media outlets we’ve tracked so far, two-time defending national champion Georgia is the unanimous choice to start out next season No. 1. Spoiler alert for Oklahoma football fans: The Sooners are ranked in seven of the 10.
