After four consecutive games away from Lloyd Noble Center, the Oklahoma basketball women’s team are back home in action on Wednesday, tipping off a four-game homestand against the Northwestern State (Louisiana) University Lady Demons.

The Sooners are 5-1 to start the season and ranked 23rd in the latest Coaches Poll. OU dropped out of the Associated Press Top 25 after a Week 3 loss to Utah but are just one spot away from returning to the AP Top 25, sitting in the No. 26 position in this week’s voting.

This will be the third time the Sooners and Lady Demons have met on the hardwood, and Northwestern State has not come close to demonizing the OU women. The Sooners won both games by an average margin of victory of 49 points.

Oklahoma’s 5-1 start has been fueled by four Sooner starters averaging double figures in the scoring column, led by veterans Madi Williams and Taylor Robertson. Williams averages 17.3 points per game, third best in the Big 12, and Robertson, the Big 12 and Oklahoma career three-point leader, averages 11.5. Skylar Vann and Nevaeh Tot average 11.3 and 10.8 points, respectively.

As a team, the Lady Sooners are averaging 90.2 points a game, which leads the Big 12 and ranks fourth nationally. Since Jennie Baranczyk became head coach last season, Oklahoma has scored at least 85 points in 18 of 40 games.

Several other intriguing stat facts about this OU women’s team:

  • The Sooners are undefeated (18-0) under Baranczyk when holding the opponents under 70 points.
  • Flipping the coin, Oklahoma is 22-2 under Baranczyk when the Sooners score 80 or more points.
  • OU is 18-0 with Baranczyk as head coach when winning the turnover battle.

Wednesday night’s game will tip at 6 p.m. CT and is available via live stream on ESPN+.
