Oklahoma football WR Theo Wease is reportedly going to enter the transfer portal.

The former five-star prospect has not quite lived up to his billing out of high school, in large part due to injuries that have held his collegiate career back. The talented wideout is coming off his best game of the season where he hauled in three passes for 123 yards and a touchdown.

Theo had entered the transfer portal briefly last offseason when the Sooners lost head coach Lincoln Riley to USC but decided to stay and is one of the players who helped set the foundation for coach Venables in his first year in Norman. Sooner fans should certainly appreciate him for deciding to stick around when he very easily could have left and gone elsewhere.

Theo Wease has not made it official that he is entering the portal yet, as even after the reports that surfaced starting with Mike Roach of 247sports, Wease tweeted this message to Sooner nation:

So at the end of the day, it seems up in the air to some extent, but from just about every angle it’s being reported that hell enter, perhaps he’ll enter and choose to make a return, just like he did last off-season.  The WR has been underutilized in the offense this year, and once again has dealt with some injury issues. Perhaps a fresh start could be a good thing for him as he aims to ultimately play in the NFL.

If his OU career is over, he has logged 10 touchdowns and 1044 yards on 64 grabs. Of course, Sooner nation would wish Theo the best of luck regardless of his decision. The departure would bring that 2019 class that featured five-star QB Spencer Rattler, and the trio of five-star WRs Wease, Bridges, and Haselwood all to a close.
