 No. 6 — Jalen Hurts

Jalen Hurts was only with the Sooners for one season, but it was one heck of a ride. He led Oklahoma to a College Football Playoff appearance and finished second in the 2019 Heisman Trophy voting to Joe Burrow of LSU.

Hurts had the best season of his career as a Sooner after transferring in from Alabama, where Tua Tagovailoa had been installed as starting QB. Jalen put up prolific numbers at OU, passing for more than 3,200 yards and throwing 32 touchdowns to just 8 interceptions. He was arguably better on the ground, rushing for nearly 1,300 yards and 20 touchdowns. Jalen

Hurts was a tremendous leader and did get plenty of flack from fans at times. He was tough to watch for OU fans who had been spoiled with three years of Baker Mayfield, and then one with Kyler Murray. Hurts was a good player for the Sooners. With a great season, Hurt’s stock catapulted him from a 6th-round NFL Draft projection to being taken in the second round by the Philadelphia Eagles. He is currently the Eagles’ starting QB. Jalen led the NFL in QB rushing TDs last season.
