In a must-win game for Oklahoma, will they be able to rally around their home crowd to upset the Red Raiders? Or does value lie elsewhere for bettors?

Oklahoma vs Texas Tech Prediction Tonight

The Sooners are massively struggling. They’re just 1-7 outright and 2-6 against the spread (ATS) in their last eight games. Now they catch a red-hot Texas Tech team that has covered the spread in 10 of their last 11. Oklahoma’s March Madness hopes are dwindling, and they need a huge win tonight to keep the hope alive.

Unfortunately, Tech’s strength is the Sooners’ weakness. Oklahoma turns the ball over on 21.9% of their possessions, good for 332nd in the country, and the Red Raiders have the 16th-highest defensive turnover percentage. They boast the 2nd-best adjusted defensive efficiency in America and will hound a Sooners offense that hasn’t been the team’s Achilles heel.

The Red Raiders are an excellent squad. In addition to their strong defense, they have the 21st-ranked 2-point shooting percentage, the17th-highest offensive rebounding percentage, and the 29th-best offensive free throw rate. So they’re usually able to hit their shots, but if they aren’t, they give themselves plenty of second-chance opportunities and free points at the charity stripe.

Oklahoma should come out focused behind a fiery crowd in such an important game, but I fear they’re running into a buzz saw. The Sooners don’t rebound well and don’t shoot free throws at a high rate, so they’ll need an outlier performance shooting the ball to have a chance.

It’s certainly possible, but I don’t think they have the offense to overcome Tech’s defense. I’m taking Texas Tech -3 (-110) as the Red Raiders keep pace in the Big 12 Conference race.

While the Sooners’ recent spiral may have you feeling sad, rest easy knowing you’re about to have a free $200 cash thanks to WynnBET. Don’t forget to claim your offer now. Bet $10, Win $200 by signing up for WynnBET now!
