Projecting where OU will fall in final Big 12 standings

Baylor, the No. 2-ranked team in the country and undefeated this season holds down the top spot halfway through the 2020-21 Big 12 schedule and is three games ahead of its closest challenger (West Virginia at 6-3. There is little if any chance the Bears will give way to any Big 12 challenger this season. We have Baylor losing at least one game this season, however.

We’re picking Kansas to upset the Bears in Lawrence in the final conference game of the regular season.

The rest of the Big 12 will be a dogfight to the end. Here’s how we see the final standings shaking out. The record that appears first is the team’s overall record; the second set of numbers is the Big 12 record.

1.    Baylor Bears                                   25-1, 17-1

2.    Texas Longhorns                           19-6, 13-5

3.    Kansas Jayhawks                          18-8, 12-6

4.    Oklahoma Sooners                       16-8, 11-7

5T.  Texas Tech Red Raiders              18-9, 10-8

5T.  West Virginia Mountaineers      17-10, 10-8

7.    Oklahoma State Cowboys          16-9, 9-9

8.    TCU Horned Frogs                        12-13, 5-13

9.    Iowa State Cyclones                    3-17, 2-16

10. Kansas State Wildcats                5-22, 1-17
