No. 3 — WR Marvin Mims

In his first year as a Sooner, true freshman Marvin Mims showed just how good he can be for this Sooner offense. Mims finished the year leading the team in receiving yards and touchdowns, accounting for 610 yards and nine touchdowns in 11 games.

Mims had plenty of catches that made you jump out of your seat this season, and we can definitely expect him to do more of the same in 2021.

Many questioned if Oklahoma could fill the hole left by now Dallas Cowboy rookie receiver CeeDee Lamb, but Mims demonstrated that he is equally capable of filling that role. He stepped up in a time when Oklahoma sorely needed him, and he delivered and then some.

With former No. 1 WR recruit Jadon Haselwood healthy for 2021 along with Theo Wease, Jr, this receiving core is going to be a lot of fun to watch for at least the next two years. Mims however, has shown that he will be the top player in this core unless Haselwood steps up in a more major way and stays healthy for a complete season.

Mims is terrific in one-on-one coverage, and for a quarterback having that guy you can trust in that situation is a huge confidence boost to the quarterback.

Expect even bigger things from Mims in 2021 and beyond, and you can expect the rest of the Sooner WR corps to step up as the competition continues to grow.

The folks at ESPN certainly have high future expectations of Mims. They’ve named him to the network’s way-too-early 2021 College Football All-America Team.
