There was no change for Oklahoma football in this week’s College Football Playoff rankings, but a big change by Iowa State, the team the Sooners are likely to meet in the Big 12 Championship.

The Sooners remained No. 11 in the second installment of the 2020 Playoff rankings. Iowa State, however, which handed Oklahoma one of its two losses this season and leads the Big 12 standings with a 7-1 conference record and 7-2 overall, was one of the big movers this week.

The Cyclones jumped four spots, from No. 13 to No. 9 and ahead of the Sooners, following a 23-20 win over Texas, which last week was 17th in the Playoff rankings.

If the Sooners are able to win out in their final two regular-season games (against Baylor at home this weekend and at West Virginia on Dec. 12), they will clinch the spot opposite Iowa State in the conference championship and have a chance to avenge the earlier loss to the Cyclones in Week 3 of the season.

The biggest movers this week were Oklahoma State, which moved up eight positions, to No. 15, following a 50-44 home win over Texas Tech this past weekend.

Oregon dropped eight spots, falling to No. 23 after suffering a 41-38 loss to Oregon State when the Beavers scored a game-winning touchdown with 33 seconds remaining in the game. Northwestern fell six spots, to No. 14, after dropping a  29-20 decision at Michigan State.

The top seven positions remained unchanged from last week, with Alabama, Notre Dame, Clemson and Ohio State holding down the top four spots, followed by Texas A&M, Florida and Cincinnati.
