Andrew Raym has yet to play a single down of Oklahoma football, but one sports news outlet has already projected him as a preseason All-American.

The 6-foot, 3-inch, 285-pound offensive lineman from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, has been named by 247Sports to its 2020 True Freshman Preseason All-America Team.

Raym, a consensus four-star recruit and Under Armour All-American, is one of 23 members of Oklahoma’s incoming 2020 recruiting class. He was ranked as the No. 41 prospect in the country by 247Sports and No. 1 in the state of Oklahoma.

Raym has been working out at center, guard and tackle positions in training camp and has received high praise from assistant coach Bill Bedenbaugh. And that says something, coming from the coach who leads one of the best offensive line programs in college football.

It’s a good bet that Raym, a true freshman, will see plenty of playing time in the coming season.

Raym is one of just two players from the Sooner State in the 2020 recruiting class. He is one of 25 players from the state of Oklahoma on the 118-member 2020 roster.

The Sooner freshman offensive lineman chose to stay home and sign with Oklahoma over offers from a number of other major programs, including Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Georgia, Michigan and Notre Dame, and TCU, Baylor and Oklahoma State in the Big 12.

In addition to Raym’s recognition as a Preseason Freshman All-American, redshirt- junior center Creed Humphrey and redshirt-sophomore K Gabe Brkic have been named to a couple of Preseason All-America Teams, and redshirt-junior wide receiver Charleston Rambo and junior defensive end Ronnie Perkins are Preseason First-Team All-Big 12 picks.
