No. 4 — Nov. 8, 2014 — #10 Baylor 48, #16 Oklahoma 14
After surprising the oddsmakers by taking an early 14-3 first-quarter lead, Baylor responded by scoring 45 unanswered points on the way to 48-14 rout of 16th-ranked Oklahoma and the Bears first win at Oklahoma in a dozen years.
Baylor outgained Bob Stoops’ Sooners by over 200 yards (544 to 319), including 387 yards passing by Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty, who completed 32 of 42 passes. Fifteen of those completed passes were caught by Corey Coleman, a career high for the Baylor wide receiver, for 224 yards and a touchdown.
Shock Linwood rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns and Devin Chafin also added a pair of rushing touchdowns.
Trevor Knight completed 12 of 27 passes for 146 yards, including the Sooners’ two touchdowns. Sterling Shepard, OU’s leading receiver, did not play in the game, out with a groin injury suffered in the game before against Iowa State. Micah Quick led the Oklahoma receivers with six catches for 94 yards and one of the two Sooner TD catches.
Baylor was eight of 19 in third-down conversions and earned 31 first downs to just 13 by the Sooners.
OU QB Knight was carted off the field early in the fourth quarter after being sacked and sandwiched between two Baylor defensive players. He was replaced by backup Cody Thomas for the remainder of the game.
