So far six Oklahoma football players and coaches have been placed on a total of 10 different preseason award watch lists.

At a blue blood program like Oklahoma football, national awards hype is to be expected and this season is no different. Here’s a list of all the Sooners currently on preseason award watch lists.

CeeDee Lamb – Junior wide receiver – Maxwell and Biletnikoff

The junior wideout is coming off a season where he caught 68 passes for 1,158 yards and 11 touchdowns. With the departure of Marquise Brown tot he NFL there’s a chance all of those numbers could actually go up in 2019 as he is clearly the most experienced player in a deep receiver room and should get plenty of targets from new quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Handicapping his chances: The Maxwell seems like a distant possibility at this point. A wide receiver hasn’t won the award since Desmond Howard in 1991 and quarterbacks have taken it home in every season but one since 2003.

On the other hand the Biletnikoff is a real possibility. As previously stated Lamb will be the clear cut wide receiver No. 1 in the Sooners offense. Lamb certainly has every tool needed to become the second Sooner ever (Dede Westbrook in 2016) capture the honor.
