If you turnover the ball too many times and can’t put the ball in the basket, you’re not going to be part of too many happy endings. Sadly, Oklahoma basketball is beginning to know that feeling well.

It hasn’t been home sweet home for the Sooners this season. Oklahoma lost at Lloyd Noble Center on Saturday for the fourth time in its last five home games, falling 66-54 to the 18th-ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders. The victory gave the Red Raiders a regular-season sweep over the Sooners.

Oklahoma’s 12-point loss at home to Texas Tech (19-5, 7-4) was five points worse than its 66-59 defeat last month in Lubbock.

The Sooners’ losing streak has reached four games and they have lost twice as many games at home against Big 12 teams this season than they’ve won. OU is 2-4 in conference games at home. With just three home dates remaining, OU is in danger of finishing the season with a sub-.500 conference record at home. The last time that happened was seven years ago (2011-12).

Since sporting a 13-3 overall record and No. 19 ranking in the USA Today Coaches Poll just a month ago, Oklahoma has gone 2-6 and is  in the perilous position of playing itself out of a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

With three of their next four games away from the Lloyd Noble Center, the path forward does not appear promising for the Sooners.

Here are a dozen more numbers to know from another dismal Oklahoma basketball defeat:

2 — Number of times in the last 10 Oklahoma games that the Sooners, No. 2 in the Big 12 in rebounding, have been outrebounded by their opponent.

2 of 7 — The Sooners made just 2 of 7 free-throw attempts (28.6 percent) in the opening half.

3 — The loss to Texas Tech was the third time this season that Oklahoma has been held below 60 points, and two of those have been against the Red Raiders (Wisconsin in the other team).

5 — For the fifth time in his last six games, OU scoring leader Christian James scored below his 15.8 scoring average. He scored 11 points against Texas Tech.

10 — Ten of Oklahoma’s 35 total rebounds in the game were on the offensive glass.

11Brady Manek scored 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Oklahoma. He also had a block and a steal.

11 — Texas Tech had 11 second-chance points to just 3 for Oklahoma.

14 — Senior Rashard Odomes came off the bench and led the Sooners in scoring, hitting all five of his field-goal attempts and four of six free throws for 14 points.

23 — Texas Tech largest lead in the game was 23 points. They led 64-41 with 5:46 to go in the game. OU went on a 13-2 run to close out the game and cut the final deficit to 12 points.

28 — OU’s field-goal percentage in the first half against Texas Tech, largely because of going up against the country’s No. 1 team in field-goal percentage defense.

30 — Texas Tech outscored the Sooners 30-20 in the paint.

47 — Oklahoma scored the opening basket and led for just 47 seconds in the game.
