Neither team shot particularly well in the game, but the Sooners managed to get to the free-throw line more often and cashed in 25 points from the charity stripe, providing the cushion for a 74-64 victory in only OU’s fourth game at Lloyd Noble Center this season.

The win was number 12 for the Sooners this season and the seventh time in 14 games that Oklahoma has held its opponent to under 70 points. OU is now at the same critical juncture that last year’s team was, with a 12-2 record early in the Big 12 season.

The Sooners are hoping to avoid what happened over the final 18 games a year ago, when they went into a tailspin and finished out the season going 6-12, including a first-round loss both the Big 12 and NCAA tournaments.

Here are some of the notable numbers from OU’s first-round Bedlam triumph over Oklahoma State:

2 — The Oklahoma win over its in-state rival snapped a two-game losing streak to Oklahoma State.

10 — Oklahoma never led Oklahoma State by more than 10 points in the game.

15 — Number of consecutive shots the Sooners missed in a poor-shooting first half against Oklahoma State.

15 — Oklahoma state led in the game for a total of 15 seconds, going up 15-14 at the 9:15 mark in the first half.

16 — Season-high points total by junior Kristian Doolittle versus Oklahoma State. That equaled his career high, also against the Cowboys, in his freshman season.

23.1 — Oklahoma State entered the game with OU leading the Big 12 in three-point shooting, averaging 39 percent on the three ball. Against the Sooners, however, the Cowboys were just 6 for 26 from long range (23.1 percent).

36.2 — Field goal percentage by the Sooners’ against Oklahoma State, their lowest shooting percentage of the season.

51-39 — OU rebounding advantage in Saturday’s game with Oklahoma State.
