Oklahoma football leaves the Sooner State for the first time this season, traveling north to go up against a team it has dominated like no other.
Except for last season, that is. Iowa State shocked the Sooners 38-31 in Norman last fall, only the ninth time in 19 seasons Oklahoma has lost a game at home.
Oklahoma has played Iowa State 82 times, dating back to 1928, and has won 74 of them, lost six and tied two. That .915 winning percentage against the Cyclones is the best all-time by one FBS team over another (with a minimum of 50 games).
Oklahoma is 36-2-1 against Iowa State when the game is played in Ames, Iowa. which is where the two teams will be this Saturday. The Sooners are 13-1 in the Big 12 era versus the Cyclones and 6-0 during that time in Ames.
Since Bob Stoops became the OU head coach in 1999, Oklahoma is 12-1 against Iowa State, and all 12 wins have been by double-digit margins.
