Members of the media apparently aren’t as gung ho about Oklahoma football heading into the 2018 college season as the coaches.
The Associated Press Preseason Top 25, which is voted on by a panel of media representative who closely follow college football, was released on Monday and has the Sooners in the No. 7 spot. OU is No. 5 in the Coaches Poll.
For the third consecutive year, the Alabama Crimson Tide begin the season as the nation’s top-ranked team in the AP Preseason Poll. Only one other school — Oklahoma — has been ranked No. 1 heading into the season by the AP voters, according to the Associated Press.
Alabama received 48 first-place votes, second-ranked Clemson 18 and No. 4 Wisconsin 1.
