No. 5 – DT Gerald McCoy, No. 3 overall pick, 2010 NFL Draft
Selected one spot above offensive tackle Trent Williams, Gerald McCoy was taken No, 3 overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2010 NFL Draft. Given McCoy’s performance in eight full seasons with the Bucs, the Tampa Bay brain trusts’ have not for one second regretted their draft decision eight years ago to take the All-Pro defensive tackle with their top pick.
McCoy has been an All-Pro selection in four of his eight pro seasons and has been named to five Pro Bowl teams. In 2014 and 2015, he was ranked No. 48 on the active NFL Top 100 list.
A two-time All-American at Oklahoma (2008 and 2009), McCoy has started all 109 NFL games he has played in at Tampa Bay. In eight NFL seasons, he is credited with a total of 48.5 sacks and 201 tackles for loss.
