With Saturday’s dramatic, come-from-behind one-point Oklahoma basketball win over TCU, the Sooners picked up win number 11 for 2017-18, equaling their win total from all of last season.

Saturday’s win was Oklahoma’s 11th in 12 games and ninth win in a row since losing to Arkansas on Nov. 23 in the first round of the PK80 Invitational Tournament. Last season, the Sooners did not garner their 11th win until game number 30 in March, which ironically was an 83-73 win over TCU.

For the 11th time this season, Sooner Superman Trae Young led Oklahoma in scoring, splitting the net from all over the offensive end and finishing with 39 points, his second most productive game of the season. The true freshman point guard averaged a point a minute, recording his 39 points in 38 minutes of action.

It goes without saying that Young has been the overriding catalyst that has led to the Sooners’ almost 180-degree turnaround this season over last.

Here are some more numbers that matter in Oklahoma’s standout men’s basketball season so far:

5 – Number of 30-point games so far this season by the Sooners’ Trae Young.

6-6 – Oklahoma’s record after a dozen games last season.

7 – In addition to scoring a game-high 39 points, Trae Young dished out 14 assists in the win over TCU. This was the seventh game in which the OU point guard has recorded a double-double in points and assists.

9 – Number of games OU has scored 90 or more points in a game this season (out of 12). They have gone over the century mark four times.

11 – Number of consecutive games in which Trae Young has score 20 or more points. The last time an OU player had that many 20-point games in a row was Stacey King in 1988-89.

11.2 – Average made three-point shots by the Sooners this season. That is tied with Kansas for No. 1 in the Big 12. Oklahoma averaged 6.2 treys a game last season.

13 – Rebounds by true freshman Brady Manek in the win over TCU, a career high and the second most by a Sooner this season (Khadeem Lattin had 16 rebounds in a win over Portland earlier in the season).

17 – Number of consecutive wins by TCU, dating back to last season, before losing to Oklahoma.

19/20 – Trae Young’s point-total splits in the first and second half against TCU. He scored 17 of his second-half points in the final nine and a half minutes of the game.

22 – Season-high point total against TCU by Kameron McGusty, who had been averaging 9.5 points per game. He nailed a huge three-point shot with under a minute to go in the game that put the Sooners up by one point after trailing the entire second half.

50.3 – Oklahoma’s shooting percentage as a team through 12 games, fourth best in the Big 12. The Sooners shot 42.3 percent a year ago.

94.7 – The Sooners’ 94.7 scoring average is best in the Big 12 and in the nation.
