Five Oklahoma football story lines as 2017 training camp commences

The boys are back at work as Oklahoma football training camp for the 2017 season officially got underway today.

This is the Sooners’ first preseason training camp in 18 years that Bob Stoops has not presided over. There is a new head coach, but a person very familiar to OU players and fans in the role, as Lincoln Riley, the offensive coordinator under Stoops the past two season. begins his first season as a head coach with a program that has won back-to-back Big 12 championships and 10 total in the 18 seasons of the Big 12 era.

You cannot start a new season without at least a few intriguing story lines to spark some debate and help get things kick-started as programs like Oklahoma ramp up their training and preparation the season opener, just a month away.

We’ve identified several story lines that are more obvious, as well as a couple that are less conspicuous, to keep a watchful eye on through training came and into the 2017 season. How these story lines develop will go a long way toward determining what kind of season the Sooner have and where they might be headed come time to go bowling in the postseason.
