This past weekend, Oklahoma football returned to Gaylord Family-OU Memorial Stadium, as Sooner fans got a bit of a football fix  and an early look at the 2017 edition of the two-time defensing Big 12 champions courtesy of the annual Red and White spring game.

Even though the game is merely a scrimmage, it gave fans a first-hand glimpse of what they can look forward to when the team takes the same field come September.

The 2017 edition of the Oklahoma Sooners will definitely look different, considering the talent that left program for the NFL. There is no doubt that Samaje Perine, Joe Mixon and Dede Westbrook’s production will be missed. But, Saturday’s spring game showed that the cupboard is anything but bare in Norman. Here are five takeaways from Saturday’s game.
