Every school starts out this time of year with high hopes and a positive attitude about the new season of college football. Things are no different for the OU football Sooners entering training camp in preparation for the 2016 college season.

If you believe what you read and hear – and why wouldn’t you if the news was all good – 2016 should be another year of emotional highs for Oklahoma football. The Sooners are on the radar of many college football analysts and writers as a legitimate contender for a return trip to the College Football Playoff, where Bob Stoops and Co. have unfinished business.

After all, the journalists who closely follow and report about the Big 12 have voted Oklahoma as the overwhelming favorite to win a league-best 10th conference title, and 64 head coaches around the country have the Sooners beginning the season as the No. 3-ranked team in the country in the initial USA Today/Amway Coaches Poll just released this week.

All is good, right? Hope for the best, but plan for the worst is what those who work in crisis management for a living tell us.

That got us thinking: What are the five things that absolutely cannot happen if the Sooners are going to fulfill the high expectations and championship run that everyone seems to have for the guys in crimson and cream this coming season?
