Five Takeaways From the Sooners’ Victory Over West Virginia

On Oct. 3, the Sooners hosted the West Virginia Mountaineers in Norman for yet another 11 a.m. kickoff. West Virginia entered the game as one of the top defensive teams in the country; fortunately, the Sooners put a 44 point dent on that defensive ranking as they emerged with a 44 – 24 victory over the Mountaineers. 

Even though Oklahoma emerged victorious, the game revealed there is still work for the Sooners to do in order to become a more complete team capable of challenging for a Big 12 title. That said, there is no doubt that Oklahoma is improving week to week and, come November, will be ready to take on the most challenging part of the schedule. Here are five takeaways from Oklahoma’s victory over West Virginia.
