One of Oklahoma’s 2016 offers visited Norman this past weekend for the NUC Top Prospect Camp. After spending time on campus again, 2016 prospect Aubrey White of Wylie, Texas loved his late July trip to the Sooner State.

White already has an offer from the Oklahoma Sooners. However, he’s also received offers from Arkansas, TCU, Houston, North Texas, and Nebraska.

Oklahoma appears to be one of his top choices, and in an interview with Stormin’ in Norman, he said he loves the environment and the university’s campus.

“(Gundy) told me to keep having that edge, play behind your pads, and just to stay humble and stay in the weight room.” – Aubrey White

The six-foot, 180 pound running back is heading in to his junior season for Wylie East High School. And while he hasn’t made a commitment yet, he expressed how crazy it’d be to play in a packed Oklahoma Memorial Stadium every Saturday.

Being a 2016 recruit, Aubrey White would be able to fully reap the benefits of a freshly renovated Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. If White signed with Oklahoma, the stadium upgrade project would be completed in time for his freshman year.

Once again, Aubrey White has not verbally committed to any team, but for what it is worth, his Twitter header photo is a rendering of the renovated OU stadium, home to currently seven National Championships.

Speaking of Twitter, White posted some kind words for Oklahoma’s director of recruiting and the team’s running backs coach, Cale Gundy. White received some wise words this past weekend from Gundy, who’s been coaching the Sooners’ tailbacks since 1999.

“He told me to keep having that edge, play behind your pads, and just to stay humble and stay in the weight room,” Aubrey White said.

From what the junior told us, he’s doing everything he can to follow through on the advice. His skill set is more of a power runner, but White told us he’s trying to work on his speed. He said he wants to become a LeSean McCoy-type running back.

Oklahoma’s had some great, powerful runners come through the program. And while Aubrey White has plenty of time to pick a school, he’s a player to watch out for in the 2016 recruiting class, one Oklahoma could really utilize in the future with great field awareness and running capabilities.
