For the teams not in a BCS bowl or the National Championship, there is an incentive to get to certain bowls.
The NCAA allows bowls to provide gifts for the players participating in their games. According to the Sports Business Journal, each bowl is given a $550 spending limit of bowl gifts for up to 125 participants per school.
Thanks to the Sports Business Journal, there is a list available of each bowl’s gift list, which will be handed out to the players in the coming weeks. For fun, I thought I’d point out who came out big and who might be a bit jealous of their friends participating in different bowls.
Here is a table of some of the best gifts to be handed out this bowl season.

Now while these bowls will get these specific gifts, it does not rule out other bowls from making them available in their “gift suite” packages. 18 bowl games this season will include gift suites as a part of their gift packages.
A gift suite is basically a shopping spree for players to pick out their own expensive gift or multiple less expensive ones. TV’s, tablets, and recliners are regular items seen at these gift suite events. This year, Southern Motion’s Viva is expected to be a popular gift. The Viva is a recliner that has charging ports for USB devices, perfect for a home theatre. Also, a few bowls gave out gift cards that include VISA, RadioShack, and of course Chick-fil-A gave out Chick-fil-A gift cards.
Now, the Allstate Sugar Bowl between the Oklahoma Sooners and the Alabama Crimson Tide will get the gift suite treatment, as well as a Fossil watch, a New Era 39Thirty cap, and an Ogio backpack. Not a bad gift for the Sooners.
The AT&T Cotton Bowl featuring the Oklahoma State Cowboys and Missouri Tigers was the only bowl to not release information regarding their gift package.
