Oklahoma Sooners Football:
The Oklahoma Sooners landed two commitments in the past week to add to their 2014 recruiting class. The Sooners picked up their first offensive line commit in Alex Dalton, who is a projected center. Dalton stands 6 foot 4 and weighs in at 280 pounds. He had many offers from schools all over the Midwest, but chose to commit to OU anyway. The second commitment came from what could be a diamond in the rough in cornerback Tito Windham. Windham is from talent rich Mississippi and his only offer had come from the Sooners. Windham appears super talented and could be a steal.
Oklahoma Sooners Softball:
The Oklahoma Sooners softball team went into action this past weekend in an NCAA Regional that was held in Norman. In the first game, the Sooners took on Marist and made short work of the Red Foxes. It was a 5 inning run rule that ended 17-0 in the Sooner’s favor. The Sooners next would take on the Razorbacks of Arkansas. This game was a little closer as the Razorbacks almost gave the Sooners a scare. The Sooners were cruising 6-1 until Arkansas had a four run sixth inning. However the Sooners would answer with four more runs of their own and coast to a 10-5 win. In the second game against Arkansas, the Sooners were back to their dominant selves and routed the Razorbacks 14-1 in five innings. The Sooners advance to the Super Regional against Texas A&M next weekend.

The OU baseball team had a midweek match with Dallas Baptist and came up with a disappointing result. The Sooners couldn’t overcome five runs by DBU in the 3rd inning and lost 6-4. The Sooners would then focus on the Wildcats of Kansas State for a weekend series. The disappointment would continue into the KSU series as OU appeared to be in a good spot but gave the game away in the late innings. KSU would score the game winner on a wild pitch in the ninth and win 6-5. In the second game, the Sooners waited too long to get the bats going as they scored their only runs in the ninth inning and lost 5-2. However, the Sooners wouldn’t let the Wildcats take the sweep as they would win the finale 7-3. The baseball team ended the regular season with a win and look to carry the momentum in to the Big 12 tournament which starts next weekend in Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma Sooners will be the fourth seed and take on 5th seed Baylor.
